College Prep Academics

- Honors and Accelerated Math and English courses offered beginning in the 6th grade, Honors Science courses offered beginning in 8th grade, Honors History courses offered beginning in 9th grade
- Five Advanced Placement (AP) courses certified by College Board courses offered in High School. Oour five AP courses have an average 95% pass rate and all exceed State and Global rates.
- AP Language pass rate has exceeded global pass rate for past 13 years. AP Biology pass rate has exceeded global pass rate for past 13 years. AP Calculus has exceeded global pass rate for past 8 years. AP Statistics has exceeded global pass rate for past 7 years.
- Dual Enrollment program with GMC Junior College. During SY24-25, 75% of our Juniors(60), and 88% of our Seniors(68) participated in the Dual Enrollment program with Georgia Military College. These 128 students successfully completed 426 college classes and earned 2267 college quarter credit hours.
- Classes of 2015-2025 have been awarded over $20.3 million in college scholarship funds in addition to HOPE and Zell Miller awards
Character Development
- Embodies mission of Elevating the Character in all aspects of our school’s culture
- All students bound by GMC Honor Code, “A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do.”
- Emphasis on community service; over 314 students have been honored with a Distinguished Order of the Servant Leader medal for completing 100 hours of community service within one year, totaling over 9,065 hours. During school year 2024-25, one cadet each earned over 1,000 hours.
- Beginning with the Class of 2014, each class has established a “Class of” Endowed Scholarship to leave a lasting legacy for future GMC Prep students. The Classes of 2014 through 2025 have raised over $647K and have fully endowed their class scholarships thereby providing enduring financial assistance to future cadets in the Prep School. This past school year 21 Prep School cadets were recipients of this financial assistance totaling $21K.
- Emphasis on Character and Discipline; 56 students this past academic year received the Perfect Discipline Award. Perfect Discipline is awarded to students who have received zero demerits throughout the entire school year.
- To start each day, students in grades K-12 recite the “Pledge of Allegiance” and students in grades 6-12 recite our Regimental Accolade: “Character Above All” and our Three Words to Live By: “Duty, Honor, [love of] Country”

Leadership and Junior ROTC (9th– 12th grades)
- Provides daily leadership opportunities through positions of increasing responsibility and rank structure designed to maximize leader development in every student; while also teaching self-responsibility
- Cadet uniforms worn by all students in grades 6-12 and all faculty
- Student-led military ceremonies including daily morning formation, drill, and parades
- Military focused Extra-Curricular Activities include Color Guard, Drill Team, and Raiders
- All High School students are members of our JROTC program; which has achieved the recognition of being an “Honor Unit with Distinction” (Gold Star Program) for the past 24 years
- From 2014 through 2021 and again in 2024, at least one student each year has received a Congressional Appointment and Acceptance to a United States Service Academy.
