Georgia Military College Preparatory is proud to be a NewDay USA Foundation select military high school.
The NewDay USA Foundation Scholarship recognizes the commitment and sacrifice our Veterans and military families have made to our country and has established a scholarship fund for candidates desiring to attend certain military high schools. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist young men and women in their pursuit of academic success and character development, and to prepare them to become leaders.
Who is eligible to Apply?
The Prep School families with a parent or legal guardian classified as follows:

A fallen U.S. armed service member killed on active duty.

A U.S. Veteran who has died due to combat related service.

A member of the U.S. armed forces who has been seriously/completely disabled due to combat.

A member of the Georgia National Guard 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team who has successfully completed a Global War on Terrorism deployment (Afghanistan /Iraq, Uzbekistan, Horn of Africa, other).
How to Apply?
Eligible Prep School families must submit the following for each child attending GMC Prep School:

An Application Cover Letter demonstrating how the deployment affected your family and how the scholarship will assist your family.

Two (2) character references in the form of letters of recommendation from individuals (e.g., a teacher, a coach, etc.) who are not family members of the applicant;

Academic transcripts for the two previously completed semesters;

Copies of the parents’ or guardians’ last two years’ state tax returns;

Military Documentation- a copy of the following forms:
Active Duty / Veteran
a. Parent’s or guardian’s DD214 and
b. If applicable, a Service Disability Rating issued by the VA. -
A completed NewDay USA Foundation Scholarship application.
